Neuberger Berman’s Custom Direct Indexing platform is one of the few platforms that offers active strategies. Unlike legacy direct index providers, NB Custom Direct Investing (CDI)™ allows clients to implement custom SMAs across Active, Core, Factor, or Hedged equity mandates, along with the ability to create blended exposures. Given active equity portfolios have higher turnover than core benchmarks, and portfolio managers are evaluated on pre-tax performance, tax-management is extremely valuable, providing 3-6% of New Direct Indexing Strategies
annualized tax alpha. Currently more than 60% of our assets are on active strategies that range across asset classes. Over the past 18 months, we have added 15 new strategies to the platform based on client demand. These new offerings include REITs, real assets, and custom US and global blended mandates.
