The Capital Cost Comparison calculator is a first-of-its-kind, product-agnostic tool that provides a side-by-side comparison of the costs associated with liquidating investments and other common funding sources. The tool uses inputs that reflect the client’s unique situation to compare the true cost over time of cashing out investments in their portfolio, opening a
home equity line of credit (HELOC), or accessing a securities-backed line of credit (SBLOC) using their non- retirement investments as collateral. The calculator enables advisors to illustrate the cost cost-effective options for their client’s specific scenario and generate a client-ready report with all the details.
