THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF FINANCIAL SERVICES

2022 was a banner year for research initiatives from The American College of Financial Services, including the “Trust in Financial Services Study” conducted by the American College Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics in Financial Services regarding consumer trust in financial services. Since the 2008 financial crisis, financial services consistently appeared as Trust in Financial Services Study

one of the least-trusted sectors in business, according to past research. However, data gathered by the Center shows reasons for hope—and offers a more optimistic outlook. Using a combination of surveys, focus group discussions, and individual interviews, the team at the Center gathered insights from nearly 2,000 consumers about their beliefs and behaviors regarding the financial services industry. The research reveals opportunities for financial companies to better connect with and grow consumer trust.

The American College of Financial Services is the nation’s largest nonprofit educational institution devoted to financial services. For nearly a century, The College has remained the best investment for financial professionals and organizations, delivering applied financial knowledge and education, promoting lifelong learning, and advocating for ethical standards for the benefit of society. Through it all, The College has ensured curriculums encompass ethical-decision making to help financial professionals grow in expertise to address the evolving needs of their clients. Today, The College offers nine professional designation programs, two graduate degree programs, continuing and non-credit education, and several consumer e-learning programs.
