October is Farm to School Month! The Farm to School Program includes efforts to bring local foods into child nutrition programs and teach children how and where their food is grown. The Farm to School program helps incorporate local foods into the healthy meals served and provides agricultural education opportunities for children.

National School Lunch Week is October 11th - 15th! National School Lunch Week (NSLW) is a great time to celebrate the success of your program in feeding the children of America. Have you heard about the Child Nutrition Recipe Box (CNRB)? ICN will be hosting the School Nutrition Recipe Mania during National School Lunch Week. Keep your eye out on our Facebook page during NSLW to vote for your favorite recipes. The top downloaded recipes on the CNRB site will go head-to-head, and YOUR vote counts to find out which recipe takes the title of CHAMPION!
