WOMEN 100M/200M Elaine Thompson‐Herah 30 yrs. SB: 10.79, Eugene PB: 10.54, Eugene “Fast Elaine” is the five‐time Olympic champion, the world’s fastest woman and one of the greatest sprinters of all time. Thompson‐Herah is the first woman in history, and the second sprinter after Usain Bolt, to win the sprint double at consecutive Olympic games, capturing gold in the 100 and 200 at the 2016 Rio Olympics and again at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Thompson‐Herah was born in Banana Ground, Manchester and attended the University of Technology, Jamaica. She is currently ranked at number 1 in the 100 and number 3 in the 200 metres.
A clash between world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah is perhaps the most highly anticipated contest in track and field.
Shericka Jackson 27 yrs. SB: 10.77, Kingston PB: 10.76, Tokyo This powerful sprinter switched from her signature 400 metre event in 2021 to compete in the 100m and 200m, rising to win the Olympic bronze medal in the 100 metres. This year, she won her first National Senior Championships 100m title clocking a fast 10.77, beating powerhouse Thompson‐Herah. Jackson was born in the Parish of Saint Ann and attended the University of Technology and is currently world ranked 3rd in the 100 and is number 2 in the 200m. Shelly‐Ann Fraser‐Pryce 35 yrs. SB: 10.67, Nairobi PB: 10.60, Paris Nicknamed the 'Pocket Rocket' for her petite stature and dynamite block starts in the
100m, Fraser‐Pryce is a two‐time Olympic gold medallist and a four‐time world champion. It all started for her at the 2008
University of Oregon star Kemba Nelson finished 2nd at trials to make her first Jamaica senior team.
No Jamaican has captured the imagination this season the way Shericka Jackson has.
