SUSTAINABILITY IN C-STORES: CHALLENGES & OPPORTUNITIES A s adoption of a more sustainable lifestyle continues to grow amongst consumers, sentiment toward sustainable businesses is top of mind as well, including the convenience-store sector. Climate-focused consumers not only want sustainable and environmentally friendly options—they increasingly expect them in the fuel and convenience retail industry, according to the fourth edition of the Sustainability, EV and Convenience Retail Survey Report from PDI Technologies, an Alpharetta, Georgia-based technology company delivering software solutions and consumer insights to the convenience-store and fuel-stations industries. ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS The survey indicates that 80% of consumers are very or somewhat concerned about the environmental impact of the products they buy, up from 68% in 2023 and 66% in 2022.
