The winner of this year’s superlative for “Best Use of the Box” wowed us with taking the items and envi- sioning a leveled-up menu concept. “Let’s do a soup, salad, sandwich around the world concept - similar to what we like to eat as adults but for the kids! By the way - the soup is definitely going on the menu!” said Jennifer Hirsch, Crestwood Lo- cal Schools. Our favorite comment from a student who participated in the school’s taste-testing their reci- pe was ”These aren’t just meatballs, these are HEAVEN.” 😇 With new sugar regulations on the horizon for the 2025-2026 school year, school nutrition professionals are rising to the challenge—not by focusing on limitations, but by ex- ploring new possibilities. Instead of asking, What can’t we do? They’re asking, What can we create? Staff are redefining breakfast with bold, protein-forward ideas. To spark in- novation, our partner schools have invited vendors to showcase beef steak breakfast burritos, inspiring the team to develop more high-pro- tein options for breakfast. Their cre- ativity is shaping the future of school breakfast!

In partnership with industry and logis- tical partners, we have developed a process to engage, inspire, and ig- nite creativity in our school clients in Northeast Ohio. Mystery Chef 2025 has offi - cially wrapped, and the creativity and passion of every participating school blows us away!
