New USDA rules will limit added sugars in flavored milk and yogurt served in school meals: • Flavored milk must have no more than 10 grams of added sugar per 8 fl oz. • Yogurt will be limited to 12 grams of added sugar per 6 oz. When planning purchases for the upcoming school year, check labels and work with your vendors to ensure products meet these updated standards.

Sheri Shipp is a Registered Dietitian and the Youth Wellness Manager for the American Dairy Association Indiana (ADAI), the local dairy checkoff organization in Indiana. Sheri has a passion for school nutrition programs, their operators and the customers (children) they serve. Prior to her role as a champion for the nearly 700 dairy farm families in Indiana and the delicious, nutritious milk that they produce, Sheri was the Executive Director for the School Nutrition Association affiliate in Indiana for 8 years and also served as an Assistant Director of Child Nutrition at a district in the Indianapolis area for 5 years.
