Grants in Your Corner How Grants Impact Teams

A re you looking for ways to enhance your team’s culinary skills? Then you need to consider applying for grant funding to help obtain these goals. Grants are in your corner to improve your dedicated staff members’ knowl - edge and skills. The types of grants that are ideal for team building goals come from your community and state workforce devel- opment agency. Within your commu- nity, consider Community Foundation opportunities or local businesses, such as banks, universities, and healthcare facilities. For Community Foundation grants, most likely your school district will have a connection to these opportu- nities. Typically, the larger organizations do have a budget set aside each year to benefit the local community in which they serve. Workforce development agency oppor- tunities are based on each state’s prior- ities. Therefore, check with your state’s agency to see which opportunities can assist your team. As you begin searching for these op- portunities, start a relationship with the local organizations by inviting them to attend a special event or school meal. Relationship building is key to under- standing opportunities as well as align-

ing with partners on a common goal - positively impacting the community. If you are burdened by grant writing, hire Westercamp Consulting LLC, we have years of experience helping many school districts just like you.

Westercamp Consulting is an expert at crafting the narrative, including all needed expenses in the budget, and much more so you can focus on op- erating a successful school nutrition program.
