Peanut Allergy Community Education Guide Bringing Back the Peanut

Hi. I’m Stacy. I ammany things, including but not limited to, a mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a creator, an amazing lip- syncer, an empath, and an overall good time. I have an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and I enjoy painting, photography, drinking wine, eating french fries, and crafting. I have been married for 10 years (cocktail please!!) and together we have made two amazing humans (another cocktail please!!). Our son Anthony (7) and our daughter Sloan (4) have non-stop energy and in the rare instance they are not talking they are eating all the snacks. I am typically the “go-to” person for my friends who are seeking advice, a non-judgmental ear, perspective, a good venting session, or even just a hug (I am also a master hugger). I believe that human connection is of the utmost importance and that kindness is cool. Need More Mental Clarity? Get Creative & Declutter at Home!

It’s March! The snow is melting, and things are starting to warm up! This time of year, my cleaning and organizing side comes out in full force. I want to clean out the garage, put all the winter stuff away, and purge anything we no longer need or use…and by “anything” I really mean old toys my kids haven’t played with since last Christmas. I love the feeling of creating new space and having things organized and in their place. Even if that means it doesn’t stay that way for long, because…well…kids. I manage to keep things orderly by doing the constant “tidying up”. This means folding throw blankets 100 times a day, putting the dog’s toys in his bin, wiping the counters down for what feels like the entire day, and basically following my kids around with a dust buster (not really, but you understand, ha). It’s exhausting but I do have a few tricks up my sleeve to at least hide the clutter and almost make it look easy. Let’s be real, mess just comes with the territory when you have kids. One way I keep it at bay is making sure they have space to be messy!

We have a playroom and it’s their space to play, be loud, get creative, and let loose. It’s important for them to be able to be kids and to “get their hands dirty”. Although, it isn’t a free-for-all! One thing I suggest is having bins and cubbies. This is a great way to make cleanup easier. We certainly can’t expect them to meet our “Mom clean” standards all the time but it’s a huge help. When it’s time to clean up their space they know everything has a place. It makes it quick and easy, and you know those words are music to a Mom’s ears! I also love anything with hidden storage! Ottomans, for example, are awesome for storing blankets and games. It makes everything easily accessible when keeping it out of sight. Finally, and I know you’re with me on this one…baskets!! You know, the cute ones you can get at a home goods store…I live for them. They offer storage and they’re also part of your décor. Win-win. When the warm weather comes and the mood strikes to organize, go with it! You’ll be productive and your space will feel lighter. I can also promise you’ll get sidetracked by many other projects along your way, it’s inevitable! So go on, get creative! Then at the end of the day, enjoy your space. You deserve it!

It was a pleasure working with the team at School District of Lee County - Food & Nutrition Services to help them communicate the changes coming to the menus. We used our Digizine™ platform to create an engaging and educational publication. Thank you for the opportunity, Lee County!
