FSNA Healthy Harvest Issue 3

A message from the 2025-2026 FSNA President Roy R. Pistone II , RDN, M.Ed., SNS

Hello FSNA Members! I hope you are all doing well. I want to take a moment to wish each of you the happiest of holidays and of course, a Happy New Year! I am truly excited to see what 2026 has in store for our incredible Association. For those of you that attended our Annual Conference in October, you experienced “The Wow!” Our Past President, Tony Jenkins, did an incredible job during his term and it was so befitting to have a fun-filled Annual Conference to recognize Tony for his leadership! KUDOS to our “Second to None”, FSNA Team, CB, Donna and Jessica, for all their hard work in making the conference so memorable! We are looking forward to our upcoming “Voices at the Table” event, January 20-21, 2026 in Tallahassee. If you haven’t booked your reservation, please do so ASAP. FSNA Members will be discussing important issues with our legislators that affect our School Nutrition Programs. Remember the old adage, “There is Power in Numbers”.

Speaking of “Power in Numbers”, it is not too early to be thinking of our upcoming Annual Conference, “The Derby Dash”. The conference will be held at the beautiful World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida from May 14-16, 2026. This venue will surely emphasize our catch phrase, “Bringing the Wow”. I trust our local Chapters are working on the President’s Initiatives for this year. As a refresher the Initiatives are as follows: 1) Increase your local chapter membership by 5% 2) Invite local Legislators to join you for School Lunch and/or School Breakfast (remember to take photos or record a video of their visit) 3) Hold fundraisers to ensure your members have the necessary financial support to attend the 2026 Derby Dash 4) Expand your local chapter’s media

In closing, I want to personally thank our FSNA Board Members, Kevin Thornton, Valerie Hansen, Tim Thompson, Sean Ellis, John Tyre, Blake Dicks, Justin Mundet, Vera Torres, Caron Rowe, Gwen Freier, Jamie Dicks, Julia Oberst, Josh Fowler, Jose Herreria, CB Banner and Vianka Colin. These incredibly gifted individuals give of their time and talents to better our Association. I am truly blessed to work alongside them. In addition to our Board Members, I want to thank our Industry Partners who help us to make a Difference in the lives of children. They truly are our Partners, and I am grateful to all of them. Finally, I pray that each of our FSNA Members has a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Please take the time to relax and spend quality time with your loved ones. You all truly deserve it! With Much Appreciation For ALL You Do, Roy R. Pistone II, RDN, MEd, SNS 2025-2026 FSNA President
