GENYOUth 2025 Annual Report

Students are not just beneficiaries of change— they are drivers of it. GENYOUth continues to place student insight at the center of its work—through research, thought leadership, and its National Youth Council. Students’ lived experiences and wisdom shape solutions that are relevant, effective, and lasting. KEY FINDINGS: ELEVATING YOUTH VOICE

Student engagement transforms the school meal experience: 77% of engaged students are satisfied with school lunch vs. 51% of non- engaged students. Breakfast is the meal most commonly skipped across all students. Free meals for all students reduces stigma and increase participation. More choice, more time, and more dignity for their school meal experience are non-negotiable. GENYOUth’s 2025 Youth Insights focused on student perspective about school meals. The result: the study “Fueled by Students: Unlocking the Full Potential of School Meals.” So what do they think?
